One of the biggest bed dilemmas that people face is how to find a spare bed. If you are lucky enough to have a spare room then it does make things simpler as you will have the space to for a spare bed but a lot of people don’t have that luxury.
However, if you don’t have loads of spare space it doesn’t mean that you can’t have a spare bed as there are a number of bed solutions available.
If space is a limited a futon or sofa beds could be a good option for your needs. These fold up so take up much less space and are perfect if you don’t have a spare room, or if you want to use a spare room for something else other than just sleeping. Because they are also chairs it means that it is truly a multifunctional piece of furniture.
A futon could be a perfect option for a kid’s bedroom as they provide a seat when not in use but a spare bed for when their mates decide to pop over. However, if your living room is the only space you have to put people up then a futon may not be the best option as they are never going to replace a sofa as a place to relax on. Therefore, a good sofa bed may be your best option.
A sofa bed has the advantage of acting as a comfortable sofa by day but when guests come it can be converted to a comfortable bed. This means if space is limited you can get two uses out of your furniture which is always a bonus. However, it is important to bear in mind how much space the sofa will take when folded out as you do need the floor space to have it as a bed.
If you do have a spare room or want the option of having an extra bed in your children’s room but don’t want to have two beds taking up room all of the time you could go for a truckle bed where another bed tucks in under the main bed turning it two beds instantly.
