Storage Beds – A Boon to Small Houses And Studio Apartments

Storage beds can solve the ever-present problem of storage in small houses and studio apartments. Imagine the list of items you require on a daily basis and the space requirement to store all of them? A wardrobe may take care of your clothing and some part of jewelry etc. But where can you keep the so many other personal items and utility items we need on a daily basis?

What are the items that need storage space in your bedroom other than your clothes? First think of the number of shoes and slippers we use on a daily basis. Where we can keep them? And the brushes, polishes and rags, wipes and nourishing creams we need for the leather footwear – how nice to have a separate drawer under the bed to hold all of the footwear?

And there are other items like extra blankets, pillows and sheets which take up a lot of space. Think of bed that can accommodate all of them? And the other items that we commonly use like iron box, iron table, pumps for the airbeds, emergency lights, torches , chargers for portable music system and similar things which we need but have no place to keep!

If you have just a tiny space for an extra bed say – under the loft – the best way to maximize the space available is to find the storage beds with a number of drawers. We can keep all the extras in these drawers, put a nice looking skirt on the outside and can forget that we have so many under the bed. The best is that the bed-skirt nicely keeps everything tidy and neat.

There is hutch-like space available even behind the headboard – where you can make the electrical connections housed for the light that will light up at the headboards and even have speakers set up for your stereos if you are an avid music fan. Also electric plug sockets can be convenient for charging your cell phone or lap top when you are working from bed.

Here are some uniquely designed storage beds from Ultimate Bed. These are beds specially made for houses and flats where there is a space shortage. There are a number of drawers and shelves built into it so that you can accommodate a lot of stuff into it and enjoy a clutter free home. Personal effects like shoes, bags and blankets all can be stored here!

Don’t you think you will like one for your home?

Sensuous And Shimmering Silk Curtains for Stunning Bedrooms

A house is made into a home with love and affection. From an empty shell with four walls, a warm welcoming gorgeous home is created with planning and patience. Every room of the house demands the same attention and interest to become personalized and special. Along with furniture, appliances, accessories, soft furnishings like curtains and shades also are important aspects of interior décor. Bedroom is possibly the most personal space in your home where you spend almost one third of your entire life. Here you find rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. High-quality bed-frame, most comfortable mattress, soft and striking bed linen and other furniture alone do not create a smart, stylish and sophisticated look or ambiance to your bedroom. They form only part of the story!

Spectacular and sensuous curtains and drapes are needed to complete your bedroom décor for fantastic and satisfying results. But you cannot indiscriminately buy curtains for your bedroom. You must take the room size into consideration, position of window s/doors, bedroom furniture layout and wall colour and upholstery of bedroom furniture. Bedroom is a place where you need privacy along with pretty looks. Especially if your bedroom has large glass windows and can be viewed from outside, you need to use shades for privacy. Another option can be café curtains for the bottom half of your windows. You can use sheers also and create a layered effect with heavy drapes which can contribute to the ‘wow’ factor.

What are the fabrics you can choose for your bedroom curtains? You have a choice of naturals and synthetics. When you are aiming for pretty looks and beautiful effects, silks, velvet, chiffon and chenille may be the option. Silk curtains can create a magic of stunning colours, cool textures and beautiful patterns that add warmth and create ambiance as nothing else. Silk is soft, shimmering, and supple and looks super cool on bedroom windows. You can have pale light colours for a cool casual look, or you can indulge in deep shades of jewel tones that look dramatic and grand. Maybe you like the textured weaves that look more classy and delicate? How about the exquisite jacquard that can add immensely to the style quotient?

Are you worried that genuine silk may be too delicate and is high on maintenance expecting hand-wash or dry cleaning every time? Then you can go for faux silks that look every bit as good as the original genuine silk! Keen to know all about gorgeous silk curtains for your bedroom décor? Coffee & End Tables – Finishing Touch to Your Living Room Furniture

Think of the days when humankind lived without too much furniture? Don’t you think they had fewer problems? Most probably they had bigger living areas – uncluttered and available? But think how inconvenient life would have been for them! No soft comfy furniture, no flat surfaces to eat from of no side tables like coffee or end tables for keeping stuff!

Over centuries, humankind has learned to appreciate good living and comfortable lodging. One of the most important aspects of comfortable homes is nice and sturdy furniture which makes life easier and more relaxed; things that would look trendy and beautiful and look aesthetic in the correct settings created to satisfy your personal desires.

Coffee and end tables – part of the occasional table sets – have become essential accessories and have become crucial part of home furniture – especially in the living room where we do the informal entertainment when visitors and guests come and where we relax watching some TV, reading books and listening to music.

End tables and coffee tables may not be the focus of the room, but they are certainly handy for keeping our snack plates, drink trays and glasses, iPods, IPads, remotes and of course newspapers and books. You can use them to hold a vase of fresh flowers or some beautiful looking curios or collectible you purchased from your last holiday!

With the wide amount of opportunities in choosing the exact coffee and end tables for your living room, the choice may be getting tougher and difficult for you. You need to focus on what kind of tables, in what style, in what material and in what size you can buy so that the end and coffee tables will blend most harmoniously with your other furniture.

Size is one of the most important aspects you must keep in mind. A coffee or end table should not be taller than the upholstered or sofa cushions – it should be preferably shorter. If you are keeping the coffee table at the center, you need at least two feet clearance space all around. Buy in a material and style that will blend beautifully with the existing living room décor.

Here are some images of beautiful looking coffee and end tables from A Brand New Look. Some are in antique finish and some with beautifully inlay work. All have storage space and finished exquisitely. Check what you like best?

Jute Furniture – Green Option for Your Home

Jute is called golden fibre. It looks golden yellow when it is mature and well maintained. Jute is one the organic, green and sustainable materials that can be used in furniture. It can be woven into rugs, sacks, bags and it can be made into pretty looking window treatments, curtains and now used for upholstering wooden framed furniture. These are eco friendly products leaving no carbon foot print.

Jute is getting more popular as people have come to realize more and more of its versatility and ease of use in both upholstering and soft furnishings. Jute strands are sometimes used for caning purposes. Jute strands are woven for seats and backs of the sofas sets as well sides and stumps of chairs. Jute weaving can be as strong as rattan or cane weaving and last as much or even longer.

Other uses for jute fibres are being explored and are as popular as other woven chairs like cane, bamboo and other grass products. Jute strands are woven a little more closely and the finished surfaces look ruggedly pretty and stay sturdy and retain their looks. Mostly the furniture frame is made of hardwood and jute fibres are used for caning.

Another name for jute is hessian. These vegetable fibres are made into strands – sturdy and coarse looking and burlap sack is made with jute fibre. Mostly jute fibres are hand woven alone or in combination with other fibres. They match the teak-like wooden finish as well as the solid furniture like oak and walnut. They can be coloured but look more fabulous when they remain natural tinted.

In natural colour, jute can give a rustic and rugged, natural look to your décor. The just fibres can be bleached into a pale and pearly white colour or can be stained into a dark brown to match oak wood frames etc. Chairs with wooden chair frames and jute fibre weaving look more elegant when upholstered with fabric and filled with microfiber.

Not only wooden frames go well with jute, but metal frames are also used to create loungers, ottoman, bar stools and other conservatory or outdoor furniture pieces. These metal and jute furniture are lightweight and can be used in patios, terraces, decks and balconies as well in gardens. They are portable and fit anywhere easily. Luxurious Design Ideas For Your Dream Home

Can you make your home luxurious looking with lavish interiors at a budget? Many of us think that we need to spend a lot of money to get our house look grand and well-appointed. It need not necessarily be that you have to spend a lot of money on expensive items or provide too costly items. We can create a stylish looking sophisticated home without burning a hole in our pockets.

What can be called luxurious décor? Rich and ornate chandeliers, luxurious contemporary ceiling fans, masterpiece paintings, curios, high quality designer sofas, plush deep pile carpets, and a big spacious house will all go to make a house look grand and luxurious. But how can you make luxury affordable? How can you create a classy and chic décor without going bankrupt?

First you have to make the home look spacious. Whatever is the size of your home and rooms, you can make them look spacious, clean and uncluttered. Throw away all the unnecessary items that you have accumulated over years and which you do not use. Check right from the storage, kitchen, bedrooms, living room and patio – and weed out all the junk that you have accumulated.

Go for simple and classic style furniture. If you have some good furniture that is antique, try to get them restored. Well-maintained antique furniture makes your home look elegant. Likewise throw away all old cushions, pillows and throws ruthlessly. Get lively coloured cushion covers and drapery too. Use sheers and laces along with brocade and silk curtains.

Get the wall décor right. Discuss with your interior decorator what will look rich on the wall. Ask him for colours and patterns which will look unique and not ordinary. Get the silk finish paint for your walls. When you have installed all the lights you will need, the satin/silk finish wall décor will glitter and bring a rich look and ambiance very easily.

Get only natural fibres for upholstery purpose. Pure cotton, pure silk or pure wool will look impressive as upholstery fabric as well curtain material. Have a lot of lights around the rooms. When light reflects off the well-polished furniture, it adds definitely to the value of your home. And always pick and choose really personal and pricey decorative items.

Here are some beautiful looking interiors from Asnaghi. The gilt and gold, chandeliers and carpets, curios and collectibles make it a dream home.
